Dear Boothbay Region High School Students, Families, and Community Members,

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the Principal of Boothbay Region High School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff and a supportive school community. I feel very fortunate to be part of this school and to support the students and families.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for over twenty-five years. I have worked with students ranging in age from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade in a variety of roles. Previously, I had the honor of serving as the Assistant Principal of the Boothbay Region Elementary School. I am beyond thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader to the Boothbay Region High School and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure each child’s success.

BRHS has worked hard for many years to provide programs and activities that benefit our students and serve as a source of pride for our communities. We are preparing students for an ever-changing world that will require them to be life long learners that are adept with technology and part of a global society. There truly is something for everyone here, with over 90 individual course offerings, including 7 Advanced Placement courses, more than 20 athletic teams, and multiple programs in fine and performing arts. We are here to prepare our students and engage our communities.

BRHS promotes and celebrates all aspects of diversity. We have an international boarding program that has brought students to our school from all around the world. Integrating and learning with students from different cultures provides our students exposure and interaction to unique points of view and beliefs. Experiences like these cannot be replicated and have a profound impact on our school community. We have a long-standing tradition of providing students opportunities to travel to countries such as: Germany, France, Italy, Greece, China, England, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua.

I view education as a lifelong process and expect that I will learn much about the uniqueness of BRHS each year. Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my passion for education to support our students. The relationships between families, community and the schools are vital to the success of our students. I encourage you to become involved in every way possible. I look forward to working with each of you.
