Dear Bath Tech Families,

We have learned that a Bath Tech student has tested positive for COVID-19. Similar to the situation in RSU 1 earlier this week, the Bath Tech staff and students are not considered "close contacts". There is no need for school closure because of the time that passed between the individual being at the school and testing positive. The school is notifying staff and families out of an abundance of caution.

Upon learning of the confirmed positive test, they implemented their response protocol. The school must follow privacy laws and protect the confidentiality interests of every student and staff member, while also ensuring that they are protecting the health and well being of all members of the school community. They are committed to keeping their students and staff safe and appreciate their working relationship with the Maine Department of Education, Maine CDC, and school physician, Dr. Amina Hanna.

Questions for the school can be directed to the Morse High/Bath Tech School nurse, Katrina Barter, by calling 207 443 8250 or emailing kbarter@rsu1.org.
