2/5/23

Dear BRHS families,

Due to the extremely cold weather this weekend, there was a sprinkler system break in the second story of the BRES building.  Water has flooded multiple areas of the school ranging from “minor” water damage of the floor to major damage of rooms, equipment, and instructional materials.

We have crews assessing the damage and working on the next steps. Unfortunately, we do not have a timeline on when the school will be safe for staff or students to return.  Due to the need for continued assessment of the damage to the school and time needed to make a plan for changes in instruction, BRES will be closed this week February 6-10.

Here is our proposed plan moving forward (subject to change as new information becomes available):

Starting Monday, February 13th

  • PK-5th grades will be relocated to BRHS for in person learning
  • 6th-8th grades will be provided with remote instruction.
  • BRHS students will be doing Remote Learning beginning Thursday 2/9/22. - BATH VOC REGULAR SCHEDULE and TRANSPORTATION

Food service will be able to deliver meals to families in need starting on Wednesday February 8th (we are not able to start tomorrow due to the water damage in the BRES kitchen). Please fill out THIS FORM to request a meal delivery this week for PK-8th grades  (Wednesday- Friday) AND 6th-12th grade starting the week of the 13th.  If you are in immediate need of food, please call the school  front office and we will make arrangements for you BRES (207) 633.5097 or BRHS (207) 633 2421.

All BRHS extracurricular events and practices will continue as scheduled. We will be in touch with more information as this situation unfolds and we gain clarity on the scope of the damage and when the BRES building might be safe for staff and students.

Thank you for your support. It takes our entire village. We will continue to navigate this time together and remain focused on the education, health, and safety of our children and families.
